[Ladies & gents: Scout. He's not the brightest. Just don't tell him that! Anyone who's talked to him so far may have gotten this idea. He's seen a lot of weird things in this town, but something has been brought to his attention that is really bugging him.]

[unfiltered voice post! filtering, what is that]

OK, I know this town is super-friggin'-weird, an' that people who get pulled inta this town may not necessarily be from the same place I am from... however THAT works. But I've also been told people 'round here also think they are countries? How can a person be a country? That... that is not possible. A person cannot be a country. A person is a person, and they LIVE in countries, they cannot BE a country. An' I haven't seen anyone runnin' around here... shaped like... France 'r somethin'...

[At this point even he's not sure where this is going.]

ANYWAY. If yer one of these people, I would love it if you could explain ta me how this even works, otherwise I'm callin' bullshit on alla youse. Otherwise, it'd sure as hell be nice if ONE thing in this stupid town made sense!

I happen to be Japan and I may be able to answer your questions.

AS I GO TO SLEEP

Roshia is near-immortal, affected physically by economic status of country, with personality tightly tied to personality of people of country. Represents country of Russia.

SLEEP IS FOR THE WEAK

....oooooook. OK. I guess. So, how were you born? Did you just appear the day Russia was made into a country or somethin'?

OK then tell me how the hell you are Japan. At all. You sound like a guy, and Japan is a place. How are you a COUNTRY?

I represent the personification of the country. The "islands" you refer to are actually my house and my citizens are the people who live there.

The thought of me walking around here in the shape of my house is quite silly, no?

It's a little hard to explain. We represent the nation--Not like the representatives at the United Nations, but... It's different. Most of us are centuries old, even thousands. I've only known one who wasn't even a hundred, and he's not really a nation.

The thought of someone who thinks they're a country ain't much different!

OK then but how... how did you come to be? Were you, like, born? Or created or somethin'?

[FYI, B is eavesdropping on all of these conversations! He at first suspected that they were an organization with code names, but recent observations (meeting a couple in person and reading their names with his shinigami eyes) have made him doubt it slightly. Therefore he is taking this happy unfiltered opportunity to gather intel~. Feel free to notice if you want!]

I was...found.

From: [identity profile] freakinblur.livejournal.com
So do people just, like, wake up one day an' say, "Oh hey! I'm Mexico!" or whatever? I don't get how this works. If I like, ran off an' started my own country, would a dude show up all of a sudden and be like, "Hey, I'm... Scoutistan" or whatever?

From: [identity profile] freakinblur.livejournal.com
Found by who? People from your country? Or like, when Japan was discovered all of a sudden, you were there?

Date: 2010-02-27 04:47 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] fuelefficient.livejournal.com
I was discovered by China-san. He may have helped me develop my language and he may have raised me but I am rather wary about such accusations.

Date: 2010-02-27 04:50 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] freakinblur.livejournal.com
So the guy who is China found you? Is that whatcha mean? So where were you before that? I mean, like... people lived in Japan for a long time, right? Or is China that much older? I gotta admit, I never paid much attention in history class.

It may be silly, but it's the truth. You will come to terms with it soon enough.

China-san claims to be over 4,000 years old. I existed before my discovery but my discovery marked my entrance into the world as a whole.

Ok, let's assume I believe all this stuff for a second. What do you do with yourself all day then, before you ended up here? Like, hang out with the king of France or somethin'?

From: [identity profile] bornwithskison.livejournal.com
I'm not sure. I never realized I wasn't like normal people until I noticed everyone else growing old around me, and I still looked like a small child. It probably doesn't help that creatures that most people can't see helped 'raise' me when I couldn't take care of myself, and when I met Danmark it just felt right. He felt the same as I did--The same goes for when I discovered Iceland on that island all by himself.

[Scout is trying hard to absorb these weird concepts. So very hard.]

Alright then. I'm... gettin' it. So you been alive a long time, huh? What do ya do with all that time? Have tea with the emperor? Bug the other countries? Do you like....know what people from your country are up to telepathically or somethin'?!

Date: 2010-02-27 05:07 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] freakinblur.livejournal.com
[Part of Scout is so shocked about how forthcoming with info everyone is about this. Usually anytime he asks questions people just blow him off cuz they know he won't get it. :|]

Wow. This is all so nuts. I ain't ever heard anythin' like this in my life! So uh, what country are you then?

Oh yay XD

Is... is someone else there? What're you, the nation of sneaky eavesdroppy people?!

I do occasionally spend time with the Emperor. Most of the time, I stay inside and watch anime though...

Very few of our citizens even know of us unless you're high up in our government, and the Kingdom of Norway.

I haven't had a king in quite sometime...but...I know sarcasm when I hear it. That is mostly true, we mostly go about our lives like everyone else.

Also, I suppose you heard of people in love with their countries and would do anything for them, no? We are their love interests.
