[Well Scout is unhappy. Seeing two of his favorite ladies, Tifa and Mia both droned really pisses him off, especially since he had just seen Mia fine the other day. Then when he goes to check in on his pal Engie to see how his progress on the gas masks for the town is going, he's droned too. AGAIN.]

What the hell's goin' on around here?

[He'll also make his way to 1664 Nelson, looking for Spy. He's got a stack of papers and he looks none too happy. Knock knock.]

They are notes on everything that has happened in this town in the past. Perhaps a pattern can be worked out.

We must continue to keep notes as they will likely be of importance in the future. Although we are not being paid, we can still do our jobs.

One thing I wanted ta do was get an emergency plan goin'. I dunno if ya were in Westport at all, but... look, if that shit comes over here? We're hosed. There ain't gonna be nowhere ta run. An' I want people here ta be ready instead just panicin'. Engie was workin' on gas masks but that dumbass is droned again, so who knows... But what I was thinkin' of was some kinda evacuation plan. Not everyone here can fight, so it'd be best ta get 'em somewhere safe an' outta tha way, an' let tha rest of us take care 'a tha crazy shit. Ya know?

I was not in Westport, but I heard about about it. And at least you understand the situation, I've discussed it with our Sniper as well and he agrees. The problem is, boy, there are no 'safe places' here. Should anything happen, I suspect us all to be dead within a week.

If these men come through on the Westport road, then the safest area would be on the opposite side of town. However, considering this godforsaken place loops, the center of town may be safest. As for those willing to put their lives on the line, if they band together and act as a militia then there may be hope.

That's what I was thinkin'. We should designate an area to be, like, a fallout shelter. I think if we act fast enough we can ak care of 'em. So long as they don't ahve any new tricks up their sleeves.

Don't be so naive, boy, of course they will have tricks. But your idea is the only one we have. From what I understand, Westport was destroyed, oui? That simply means Mayfield is not as indestructible as we believe.

[It means more than that which is what bothers Spy. He pauses for a second to gather his thoughts and take another hit off his cigarette.]

In Westport, were there any buildings left standing? Even if they remained mostly intact, it counts.

Yeah, somma tha houses were standin'. Fer some reason the smog tha hazmat guys were sprayin' didn't make it inside 'em. The church was still standin', but the inside was... fucked up. Grafittied wit' crazy shit. I heard a lotta people made it inta city hall, but I never got that far.

If that is the case, then these houses may be the safest place. I still don't trust it, mind you, this town clever. For now, it is better than nothing.

I have. Mostly with tha Major Gen'ral. Most folks in town are ready fer anythin', too. Plenty 'a people volunteered ta help if we need it.
